Have any of you seen this late 1990's movie "Rumor Has It"? I'd watched it when I first came out (I think I was in high school) and bought the movie a few years ago but didn't really remember the details. This afternoon, I thought I'd pop it in and watch it again.Funny, back in 1997ish when it came out, I never caught on but today would you believe I watched the whole movie and the one thing I took away from it was that it was infertility related? Basically, Jennifer Aniston's character thinks that Kevin Costner may be her father. When she confronts him, he says he's sterile because of blunt testicular trauma. Later in the movie, his son appears and she freaks out to which Kevin explains that it's not his biological son. His wife and him used a sperm donor.
That is definitely not the main focus of the movie but as a woman in the IF world, I thought it was very interesting. Any other movies you know of that mention IF or anything along those lines? We should start a list of them. Happy Sunday all!

Underwear
This is my random thought for the day...
DH has been yelling at me because I've got some holey underwear. My mom always told me that when I go to the doctor to wear my best undies because you didn't want the doc to see your bad ones. I always keep that in mind when I go to Dr. Val but really...has she EVER seen my underwear? I think not so I'll keep rockin' the holey ones. :)

"Invisible Loss" by Deb Grissett
I'm really enjoying helping with the Midwest Infertility Awareness Conference. I'm contacting authors and such to donate for the conference and I've spoken to a couple that are super nice. Today, Deb Grissett called me and we talked on the phone for 20 minutes about the conference and our journeys. She's helping put on an expo in Jacksonville, FL in November. It was a really uplifting conversation and exactly what I needed today. I'm leaving you with a clip of her song that she wrote. Deb dealt with secondary infertility and after 6 years of trying for a second child, her husband and her decided that one was enough for them but she's still very active in the IF world. Thanks for being out there Deb!

Midwest Infertility Awareness
For all you Midwest IFers out there, my good Twitter friend has started up this great organization called Midwest Infertility Awareness (MIA). Along with the help of the nurse at the "other" clinic, she's putting on a conference November 12, 2011 that's open to all ladies (and men) starting, going through or finishing their IF journey. More details will come if you're interested in attending the conference!
I'm helping her out with the social media so be sure to follow us on Twitter: MidwestIF or Like us on Facebook by searching Midwest Infertility Awareness. If you're in the area and want to help out, leave me a message. For everyone, leave me a message what you'd expect to see at the conference, topics covered, giveaways, etc...I'm really excited!!!
